Surely there should have been a responsible adult with them checking what they were being given Well that’s a pretty misleading headline, considering they have not even gotten the testing done yet and have no idea what the candies are. I’m guessing they are candy. Still, I would never give my kid anything that came unwrapped. Someone that the kids know has a new dealer, popped their pills into the bucket so that the mother would take them to the police and get them tested, so they can find out how good the pills really are. They put in all 10 so that it was really obvious, rather than just slipping one in.

Please do not publish stories like this that make it seem like something bad has happened before any evidence has been found. Especially something that folks are so afraid of happening. A good reason why children should not do Trick or Treating. It’s not the Grinch I’m surrounded by idiots shirt time I have heard of drugs being given out at treats. The idea of accepting sweets from a stranger is undoing all we try to instill in children today about being aware and savvy of such behaviors. I believe this story, however, I am cautious about what’s being put in my kid’s bucket. After all, we are letting our kids knock on random doors asking for sweets After telling them never to talk or take sweets off a stranger lol. Mixed messages and all that. Luckily most people are genuine and it’s a nice atmosphere joining in the Halloween fun.
